Evgenij Voznyuk is a Ukrainian professional dancer, former German Latin champion and dance-school owner. Together with his wife, television judge Motsi Mabuse, he runs a dance school in Kelkheim, near Frankfurt. Their working partnership began on the competitive dance floor before they married in 2017.
His professional work now includes training other dancers. The German professional dance trainers’ association, Deutscher TanztrainerVerband der Professionals, identifies him as director of the Motsi Mabuse Academy and a member of its Solo Latin commission.
A competitive career before their marriage
Voznyuk’s competition record predates his partnership with Mabuse. The German Professional DanceSport Association’s championship archive lists him in third place at the 2009 German Latin championship with Oksana Nikiforova. By 2012, he was competing alongside Mabuse, with whom he again finished third.
The following year brought their national title. On 14 April 2013, Voznyuk and Mabuse won the German professional Latin championship in Augsburg, representing Aschaffenburg. The official results record her full first name, Motshegetsi.
According to the professional dance trainers’ association, the pair ended their competitive careers with a farewell performance on RTL’s Let’s Dance on 23 May 2014. Their subsequent work kept them involved in dance through teaching and running their school.
Building a dance school near Frankfurt
The couple opened Motsi Mabuse – Die Taunus-Tanzschule in Eschborn in March 2018, following more than four years of planning, according to its entry with Kelkheim’s local business association. The business is now based in Kelkheim and combines recreational dance teaching with training for competitive dancers.
Voznyuk’s responsibilities have included the practical work of developing the business. In an RTL interview published on 25 October 2021, Mabuse credited him with managing the school’s move to Kelkheim. She also described their shared outlook on work and family as a source of support.
Marriage in 2017 and the arrival of their daughter
Their sporting partnership and romantic relationship have distinct timelines. While they competed together from 2011, GALA’s contemporary wedding coverage, published on 28 June 2017, described them as having been a couple for two years. It reported that they celebrated their wedding on Mallorca on 24 June.
Their daughter was born in August 2018, as RTL subsequently confirmed in its interview with Mabuse. That placed the start of parenthood in the same year as the opening of their dance school.
What Mabuse has said about their marriage recently
In an interview published by GALA on 26 August 2026, Mabuse spoke about the importance of respectful communication in their marriage. She explained that they avoid dismissive language when speaking to each other and described mutual respect as a foundation of their relationship. The interview provides a recent public account of their marriage ahead of the research cut-off of 31 October 2026.
